The defending back to back super bowl champs don’t need any help. But who cares. Lets give them the best player in the league now in QB Steve Young(19 MS, 63 PS, 69 PC, 69 AVB), and then the best player in the league down the road who was drafted with the #1 overall draft pick FROM this past rookie draft RB Marshall Faulk. Faulk 50 RS and 56 MS and 44 REC makes him the most complete back in the league. It will not be fun playing this offense. I haven’t even told you the best of it yet. 69,69,63,63,56,50,50 are the REC numbers for Young’s skill players L. Yeah that’s fair. The weak part of the team might reside in the front seven on defense. No dominant DL and just above average LBs. They did however land big stud FA Greg Lloyd who will be a menace for many years in the league. CB Maurice Hurst and S Merton Hanks will snatch anything up that comes their way with 75 INT. The only thing TSBGOD doesn’t have is overall defensive speed as he told me. Who cares, he should average close to 35 points a game with that offense.

Detroit brought in a few new faces to try to change their recent luck. Added are QB Troy Aikman, RB Rodney Hampton, and LB Rod Stephens. Departed are bad attitude QB Jeff George, RB Natrone Means, and Ken Harvey. Will the look promote the boys FROM the motor city into the playoffs? Possibly. Let’s look at their supporting players. Aikman’s 63 PC pairing up with WR Herman Moores’ 63 REC might kill some teams. Hampton has 50 MS so the ground game is a go. An Average offensive line to pave the way. Good GROUP of backers led by of course Rod Stephens with his 56 MS. CB D.J. Johnson is probably the best defensive back on the team with his 63 INT, but is slow with 38 MS.
Detroit is probably one top notch defender FROM making a big run late.
(6-7)
Green Bay is of course led by the duo that has been together for awhile now. QB Brett Favre and buddy WR Sterling Sharpe are the Packers 1-2 punch. Favre’s 19 MS 63 PS and 56 PC will be a nightmare to teams when trying to cover Sharpe deep who has 69 REC. 3 Huge offensive linemen with 69 HP will roadblock for RB Leonard Russell. The Super Bowl Champion New England Patriot castoff running back has 38 MS. Ken Norton Jr will roam the middle and try to produce for a weaker GROUP. Norton’s 50 MS and 63 HP will be an impact no doubt. The Secondary is led by real life Packers George Teague and LeRoy Butler. No one is a stud, but all get the job done. Without research I have to bet that Kaberger loaded up on his hometown real life packers. He’s got to have at least 10 guys who actually played for the cheese heads on his roster. Will his biasness hinder him FROM a title run?

Denver brought in Dan Marino this off-season to put some spark with his cannon arm. Will the mile high air put more loft on Danny Marino’s passes? In the deal, Denver also got WR stud for years to come Tim Brown. 63 MS and 63 REC make him probably the deadliest WR in the league. Anyone who plays tecmo however knows that Errol loves to run the ball. Will Edgar Bennett’s 38 MS be enough for Errol? I’m guessing you will see him throw more than pass this year which doesn’t play to Errol’s playing style, but he’s a VET he will adapt. DL Bruce Smith is fast and will be able to chase down plays FROM the backside, but don’t count on him blowing up the OLine for some “gimme” sacks. CB Terry McDaniel has to step up to make up for a dismal LB GROUP. McDaniel has the ability to do that with his 50 MS and 75 INT.

Let the rebuilding process begin in the big easy. No one worth mentioning on offense makes this team vulnerable to stingy defenses. Turnovers must be had FROM their defense to even compete in the league. S Marquez Pope is the only thing resembling a controllable defender for the Saints. 50 MS, 69 HP, and 50 INT make him the star on this less than stellar GROUP. The bayou will be dry this season as he will have to do all the work. By no means is discdolo a bad player, he’s a very good player. But even the best couldn’t do much with this team.

The Welcome to the Jungle orientation team is lead by S James Washington. His 63 MS, 56 HP, and 63 INT will most definitely put fear into the opposition. DL Charles Haley moves inside to play the nose in attempt to scare the opposing QB as he looks into his eyes before every snap. Haley’s 69 HP could play a factor versus bad offensive lines. LB Mo Lewis is the 3rd cornerstone to a very solid defensive team that will put the clamps on most teams. Dave Brown is the QB for the Bengals. Yes DAVE BROWN, and strangely enough isn’t too bad. 13 MS and 50 PC rank him at middle of the pack when talking about starting qbs in CTL. If Brown gets in trouble though, he has some guy to fall back on. Emmitt Smith anyone? We all know Emmitt is a beast. 56 RS 56 MS 44 REC. In front of him is a very solid Offensive line that all have 50 HP; RT which has 44 MS for special team purposes. The WR/TE aren’t bad either for this team. No standouts but they will get the job done, as most teams will fill the box trying to shut down Emmitt Smith and the run.

Philadelphia
Eagles-mikeyscull
Scully probably had the best improvement of his roster this off season. He also had a plentiful cap to throw at superstars. Philly was able to get back the guy who made them unstoppable on the original rom. Not as good as on the original, so the Eagles plucked Hoss, Jeff Hostetler, as well to be the backup. Threw a huge chunk of change at RB Terry Allen to be their RB for a few seasons. WR Terance Mathis will definitely get some catches this season with QB Eagles scrambling ability. On defense, the Eagles loaded up at linebacker. Cornelius Bennett, Jessie Tuggle, and Chris Spielman, all of whom are all pros, will bring some intensity to the Eagles crew. Spielman’s 50 RS, 56 MS and 50 HP make him beast like. T-Buck controls the secondary with 50 MS, 56 HP and 63 INT.

My partner in crime FROM Tecmo Talk Radio, Chris and his Chargers bring back the same core of guys, with the addition of WRs Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders(Redskin teammates, go figure that one). They give overpaid Hurricane alum, Jim Kelly some targets to throw to. Kelly has 63 PC and will keep defenses in check when trying to stack the box and shutdown league leading rusher Jerome Bettis. Bettis downgrades to 50 MS this season, but should be close to the 1000 yard barrier again this year. On defense, nothing to overwhelming FROM the front 7, but the secondary is led by superstar CB Ray Buchanan. Buchanan’s 63 HP and 75 INT is a deadly combination that should not be tested. Even though Buchanan is a top notch stud DB, he can’t stop everyone by himself and the superchargers must win a lot of shootout games this season.

Cleveland
Browns-BigFatPaulie5
The Best trio of DBS on one team reside FROM the city that rocks. Perry, Williams, and Turner will be lights out and force most teams to run with their 75, 75, 63 INT ratings. A very solid LB Core led by Derrick Thomas will provide run support. Average Defensive Line. Warren Moon, who was cut last season FROM the Browns because they could not make it under the salary cap, restructured his deal and signed again for the Browns. Cleveland was able to put together a very good O-Line to protect Moon and his new runny buddy. FA Pickup Johnny”Im not white” Johnson. JJ and Moon will surprise some people and push for the playoffs. I see them on the bubble.

Landing Jamal Anderson in the rookie draft was huge, although his impact won’t be felt for a few seasons; it has the Steel curtain something to look forward to down the road. So in the meantime, Bigflu dealt some players away in attempts to compete now. RB Leroy Hoard and his 44 MS were obtained, as was Brett Perriman who is a top 5 WR in the league for a few more seasons. This did cost a pretty penny; they had to ship franchise WR Cris Carter and his 69 REC to New England. Vinny Testaverde is the signal caller under center this year, and besides Perriman, he doesn’t have too many threats around him. LB Jeff Herrod was a big pickup in free agency. Look at these numbers. 50 RS, 56MS, 56 HP make him deadly. The secondary is fast and hit hard, but their hands are shaky. Only one guy, SS Kevin Ross has a 50 INT rating, everyone else is lower than him.

Miami changed ownership twice this off-season. I’m glad we landed lefty as an owner. Very solid player and is reliable. For those who haven’t played him. Don’t even bother trying to grapple him, he will shake and bake ya bad. RB Chris Warren was delegated the franchise player. Deservingly so, 63 MS makes lefty an instant force to be wrecken with. The QBs are weak but I don’t see them throwing much this season, Warren will be named league MVP. On the rare occasion QB Chris Miller does decide to throw, he will look primarily at Free Agent pickup WR Henry Ellard. Ellard is a burner with vice grip hands(63 MS, 63 REC). On Defense, Miami signed LB Pepper Johnson in free agency. One of the bigger steals in my opinion. 56 MS and 56 HP will terrorize the opposition. The Secondary is just average, so Johnson will have to play huge as the defensive captain. Lefty is a top 10 online player I feel now, and he is only going to get better.

Joe Montana puts on a Colt uniform this season in hopes of one last playoff push for his great career. Montana has 56 PC, so he more than likely will be atop the rating charts for CTL this season. His #1 safety valve is RB Thurman Thomas. Thomas has 50 RS and 50 MS so teams must beware. Thurman Thomas best friend in real life is on this team as well. WR Andre Reed and 69 REC will play catch with Montana to give the Colts a form of the “trips”. The only standout star on Defense is Strong Safety Eric Turner. 56 MS, 69 HP and 75 INT might put him as the elite defensive back in the league. My guess, Turner gets all league honors this season.
(8-5)
Eifer is always a factor when he’s got a good QB. QB Jim Everett inked a deal to play for the boys FROM the Big Apple. Everett’s 63 PS and 63 PC will definitely do the trick for Eifer. Lewis Tillman might be overlooked but his 50 RS and 44 MS will get him chunks of yardage to keep the pressure off of Everett. Everett’s favorite target should be WR Irving Fryar. Fryar has 56 MS and 63 REC. The horrible offensive line might hurt Eifer coming down the playoff stretch, but who knows, this vet might be able to pull something out of his hat. LB Bryan Cox another Eifer Trademark mans the front 7 on defense. 50 MS and 56 HP make him fast and strong enough to cover or stop the run. The secondary isn’t too great so there will be shootouts in the meadowlands. I can tell Eifer hasn’t been so dedicated to tecmo lately. I believe he has a lady friend who has been taking much of his time; this is everyone’s chance to get some Ws against this very solid player.
(8-5)
John Elway is the captain for the Bucs. 19MS 56 PS and 56 PC put him in elite QB status for the Classic Tecmo League. Tampa played a smart move by drafting real life Buc RB Errict Rhett. 50 MS as a rookie, Rhetts impact will be immediate to a lackluster Buc offense. In Free Agency, they did land WR Michael Irvin(56 MS and 63 REC). That gives Elway a big time threat down the field. This should open the ground game up for both Elway and Rhett. On defense however the Bucs aren’t quite as scary. Not one player is a showstopper. All the DBs have holy hands, and the LB GROUP is slow and weak. For the Boys in the Burnt Orange to contend, their offense must fire on all cylinders and put up some points, because their defense will do the same.
(5-8)
Even though TDO has one of the coolest wrestlers ever as his LE in Bill Goldberg, his defense will give up a lot of points this season. His secondary is somewhat fast, but not very good hands. His LB core is slow and weak. For the Falcons to win, it must be a shootout. A below average offensive line will have QBs Mark Brunell and Gus Frerotte scrambling for their lives. This QB combo will throw a bunch of picks with their 44 pc ability. No running game to save the QBs. All 4 RBs come in at 31 MS. Only bright side on this team is the WR/TE Unit. Andre “Bad Moon” Rison is the only standout though with his 63 REC. He must come up huge for Atlanta to put up a fight.

Houston once again fell short in the playoffs. If Canes doesn’t bring home a ring this season, the Oilers might be looking to change coaches as well as hometowns and their move to Memphis/Nashville is coming up very soon. Knowing his job is on the line, Canes changed a few things. Gone are QB Troy Aikman(first ever pick in franchise history), RB Rodney Hampton(2nd ever pick in franchise history). How do you replace 90 percent of your offense over the past 3 years? QB Jeff George with his 56 PC and even better a lot more cap friendly contract, and RB Natrone Means with 56 MS. Houston was strapped for cap so they really didn’t land a big time free agent this season. The Starting pair of WRS are both good with 63 REC. Houston has an average offensive and defensive line. The Lb Crew is pretty good and might surprise some people. Houston’s strength has always been their defensive backs Once again the Oilers field a pretty good GROUP of ball hawks. The Safeties however are a bit weak and might have a hard time covering top notch WRs as their INT Ratings are dismal 44, and 38. Due or die for CANES.

Raiders-MRTECMOSUPERBOWL
The most improved them I believe will be the Raiders this season. The coach Carmelhoops, stepped down, but will remain as the General Manager. He went out and hired the former CTL Redskin coach to wear the headset on the sidelines this season. QB Drew Bledsoe and his 69 PS rocket arm will be very nice when combined with a duo of wide receivers that have 63 REC. Michael Haynes and Quinn Early will get some nice numbers because of this. But when it comes down to it, the man on this team is RB Barry Sanders. Sanders with his 63 MS makes this team scary. This is quite a potent offense FROM the black hole. At corner, this team was able to sign CB Rod Woodson to a long term deal. This means they have a solid shut down CB for years to come. His corner teammate Donnell Woolford is even better this season. 56MS, 56HP, and 63 INT make guys wonder how to beat this team deep. Maybe running? Not so fast. RE Leslie O’Neal and his 69 HP might blow a few runs and catch the back for a few losses this year. If you do manage to get past the front 3, watch out for the Linebackers. 3 have 50 MS, and the other has 44. This team no doubt, will have the best turnaround FROM last season.
(9-4)
Buffalo welcomes Offensive League MVP FROM last season to its roster. QB Boomer Esiason will fit in quite nicely with what the boys FROM orchard park have going. QB Steve Walsh will start the season as the #1 guy, but Boomer might get a lot of playing time, depending on in game conditions. An Average running game with the best back having 38 MS. The hands on the team aren’t too overpowering with the starting WRS having only 56 REC, the rest are scrubs. The defensive secondary has a good combination of speed, power and hands. Deion Sanders leads the GROUP with his 69 INT. He might get a lot of Interception chances with the new addition of the highest paid LB in CTL History. Junior Seau has come to town and will definitely provide immediate impact for this Bills Defense. Mort is deadly with a LB and now we are all in trouble.
(9-4)
Washington is another team that will field a solid squad due to great signing this off-season. SS Willie Clay, QB Craig Erickson, and LB Shane Conlan provide some power status to the Redskins. On offense Ricky Watter is still his steady self with 44 RS and 44 MS. They also have some guy named Rice. Jerry’s 63 MS and 69 REC make him the best WR in the league. Erickson and Rice will put up massive numbers this season and look for Rice to be named to all CTL once again. Clay’s signing really isn’t too much for this season, but banking on his future WHERE he has high interceptions in the next few seasons. Currently on the defense they have FS Greg Jackson to be the standout. Jackson 56 MS, 63 HP, 69 INT means business. The GROUP of LBs are speedy or powerful. 2 have 50 MS, the other 2 have 63 HP to strip the ball carrier of the ball and CREATE some much needed turnovers.
(6-7)
Overlooked QB Stan Humphries will have some nice go to guys when needed. Brian Blades and Rob Moore will standout with their 63 REC. TE Pete Metzelaars might get a few looks as well with his 50 REC. In the backfield the Seahawks load up with Barry Foster. 44 RS and 44 MS doesn’t put Foster as an elite RB like he was in the past, but he is serviceable. Something the Seahawks have really lacked over the past 3 seasons. Nice hogs up front so he should get some running room. The defensive secondary is very speedy and led by standout SS Darren Woodson. Woodson and his 63 INT ability will be playing ball hawk and roaming the deep centerfield in attempts to get a costly turnover for his team.
