                                TSBGOD'S CTL 1993 SEASON PREDICTIONS

  KING KONG CONFERENCE

VINTAGE DIVISION 

PATRIOTS- TSBGOD has made a few changes to his Super Bowl team, the one biggest change in CTL land is they will not be coming back into this season with there All CTL RB Barry Sanders. They decided to trade him away for RB Russell,  a bunch of draft picks and a few LB's that will help the Patriots defense up the middle. Marino is hurt for them this season but Simms looks to step up and fill the void! Pretty solid team still all-around as they once again did well in the draft and Free agency. I see them having a good season but their overall goal is to revamp for the future. The favorite to go to the SB in the King Kong conference but the Bengals will look to end their SB run. PATRIOTS (11-2)

PACKERS- KABERGER looks to have a great offensive season with Brett Favre and 5 receivers to go to at anytime . Sterling Sharpe will be the go to guy when the game is on the line, his 69 RECS is as good as it gets in this league!  Add in the MS speed of the other wr crew and you have a dangerous offensive attack. Packers do have a weak OL, that could be a problem as the season plays out. On the defensive side of the ball they have fast LB's with Chris Spielman leading the way with his 50 RS and 56 MS speed. In the secondary they also have stars but 5 million dollar S Leroy Butler will be leading the charge with his 63 MS and 69 INTS. This team might be one of the most complete teams in all of CTL and will look to stay in contention for the division all season. PACKERS (8-5) 

DOLPHINS- EDISAURUSREX and the Phins had a less than favorable offseason, they seemed like they did not put a great effort into free agency and the draft to field a competitive squad. They do however have Chris Warren and his great legs to carry the load this year, however that will not be easy to do with one of the worst OL's in CTL. Qb will be also an issue because Stan "not the man" Humphries is slow and has very little accuracy to say the least. On the defensive side of the ball they made a trade with the Vikings to acquire Hardy Nickerson and his 50 RS and 56 MS speed. Secondary is led by Gene Atkins and his 69 MS speed. Overall not a solid team but not one of the worst either. I see an up and down season with the downs outweighing the ups! DOLPHINS (6-7)

BRONCOS- MATLISAB is coming into his first season with a QB in Steve Young that Had 30 TD's to only 1 INT last season with a 70% completion percentage. Young has incredible passing skills and with his legs makes him the one most dangerous player in all of CTL. The Broncos will have to ride Young because they do not have any RB's that can get the job done. WR crew is decent but not great . OL is solid and balanced. On defense they are lacking LB speed but might make up for that in HP. Secondary has some speed but lacks high INTS. This team will go as far as Steve Young carries them, too much pressure and too much work IMO. BRONCOS(5-8)

JETS- BIGMV54 is in his first season looks to stay a float in this pretty damn good division.  Jets on offense do not really have much other than Brent Jones and Courtney Hawkins. The only issue of that is they do not have anyone to get them the ball because the combo of O'Brien and Grbac is just plain horrible. They will struggle tremendously all season long. We now move on to the defense which is not much better, they lack speed and INTS with their LB's and DB's. Look for teams to throw on them for huge dividends throughout the season. One plus is that BIGMV has a NITRO thumb and will win grapples against anyone in the league. Overall a poor team the Jets are putting on the field this year and hopes just to be competitive in his first CTL season. JETS (4-9) 

TRADITIONAL DIVISION

 BENGALS- LORDSUMMERISLE64 has moved his franchise FROM Philly back to WHERE he belongs in BENGAL land! Last season in his first season taking over a team he ended up in the playoffs but came up short, this time around he looks to go all the way in his first full season. The Bengals are built around franchise running back Emmit Smith and his consistent play. With his 50 RS and 56 MS speed he looks to do big things and is the favorite IMO for MVP of the league and rushing title in CTL. Lord also picked up a steal in the draft going after Rick Mirer, his 19 MS and 50/50 passing rating should be plenty enough for the skillful owner we call LORD! Decent WR crew and a solid OL will spell DANGER for teams in CTL. Bengals defense is anchored by second year LB Mo Lewis and strong safety Rich Miano. These two guys will probably have great seasons this year. Overall a pretty good team and mix that with a great skillful owner and presto you have a season WHERE they will contend for a Super Bowl title.I think the week 4 match-up with the Patriots will not only be for home field throughout the King Kong division playoffs but likely the Championship game to go to the Super Bowl later this season. BENGALS(11-2)

CHARGERS- VOGTCD11 first season in CTL looks like will be a very good one, with the #1 pick in the draft he picked up RB Jerome Bettis and in Free agency signed QB Jim Kelly for 8.5 million. Has 2 decent WR's but has a poor OL to deal with. On the other side of the ball they look for their other first round pick DB Ray Buchanon to shoulder the load on defense with Roland Mitchell with their 63 MS and 56 INT ratings. LB bunch is pretty poor and DL is very very weak. I think Kelly/Bettis will be enough for the Chargers to taste the playoffs and be a threat ! CHARGERS(8-5) 

VIKINGS- Sconnie comes into this season after a miserable offseason that seen him lose his defensive star Rod Woodson in a salary cap blunder. Aeneas Williams will look to step up in Rod's absence. On Offense this team looks pathetic on paper but do not sleep on Sconnie and his JJ magic. Irvin will be the main focus when teams are playing on defense. Qb combo of Gannon and Rubley is plain out awful. RB Johnny Johnson and his 44 MS speed will have to take a huge part of the load for the Vikings to have any chance of turning this season into a success! On defense CB Aeneas Williams is the one guy that sticks out with his 69 MS but only has 38 INTS. Quentin Coryatt will try to keep the LB bunch intact with his 50 RS and 56 MS speed. Overall not that deep of a team but with Sconnie's JJ magic and his solid defensive skills he will be in contention for the last playoff spot down the stretch and most likely will fall short.VIKINGS(7-6) 

BROWNS- TECMOCRUSHER comes into this season with some questions on who will step up and be the QB since they lost Warren Moon to the salary cap penalty!  One thing the Browns do know is that rookie RB Ronald Moore will be the work horse for this offense, he has 44RS and 50 MS speed and looks to take this team on his back . WR's are just average and the OL is pretty good with the exception of 44HP Christy. Where this team will thrive is in the secondary, teams should be careful if they plan to heave it up against the nightmare combo of Deion Sanders and Marcus Robertson. Their speed might be 44 MS but they have an insane 75 INT rating . This might keep them in some games but will not be enough to make the playoffs unfortunately. BROWNS(5-8) 

CHIEFS- MIKEYSCULL in his first year made a trade in the offseason to get stud DL Reggie White(75HP) to anchor the line. Running game should be strong with Gary Brown(50MS)in the backfield. Hoss at QB has 19MS and a 56/50 passer rating, this should be enough offense to have teams flustered at times. WR's are very poor and will be the downfall of the Chiefs. On the defensive side of the ball Chiefs have the worst set of LB's in CTL. In the secondary all their DB's have speed but not one of them has over 44 INTS, that alone will spell disaster when they face the teams with good QB's. Chiefs will have a very long season and hopefully go into the offseason with rebuilding on their mind.CHIEFS(4-9)                                                                            

GODZILLA CONFERENCE 

HISTORIC DIVISION 

COLTS- SOWA1291 looks to prevail as division winner with the help of Thurman Thomas the best running back in CTL this season as far as ratings go(56 RS and 56MS). Along with QB Steve Beuerlein and his 56/56 passer ratings this team looks like a solid offensive fire power. On the defensive side their DL is very strong with 63,63,69 HP ratings. Their secondary has some of the fastest in the league 69/69/56/56 MS DB's along with Turner 's 63 INT and Washington's 69 INT ratings this defense looks to be very scary to run or throw on. A very solid skillful owner will look to make a run for the title this season. COLTS(9-4) 

GIANTS- Eifer the long time veteran had a little trouble with the salary cap but fixed it with a trade and will keep Boomer Esiason as his QB leading the charge. He also did well in making his team better by adding Reggie Brooks(44RS and 50 MS) to his team.He also has two good WR's in Langhorne(56MS,63RECS)  and  Irving Fryar(56MS,56RECS) and a TE Pete Metzelaars that also has 56 RECS. On defense the Giants have three 50 MS LB's (Mecklenburg,Clifton,Cox)  to get the job done at his favorite position to roam with.  Although he does have speed in his secondary they do lack INTS very heavily. This might be crucial in going against some great QB's down the stretch. A very strong skillful owner with a lot of passion for Tecmo, this adds up to a lot of wins this season.Giants(9-4)

LIONS- JSHAW5542 returns to CTL and hopes to compete with his pretty solid squad. Joe Montana will lead the Lions with his 56 PC but the 44 PS will be tough to manage with having only 50 MS WR's . They are without a true standout RB, two will share the load as 38 MS backs(first round pick Natrone Means and Neal Anderson)on this team. Like I said earlier they only have 50 MS Wr's but they do have four of them so maybe that will help ease the pressure of Montana but I do not think so. This team's strength is in the secondary which that possess one of the best in the league. They have one 69 MS, 2 63 MS and 1 56 MS DB. They also have INTS of 69,63,63,50. This will cause teams to have to run the ball to take advantage of the less than average LB crew. Overall a very solid team with few holes other than RB. LIONS(7-6)                                                               

BUCCANEERS- Byoderphilton is also returning as an owner FROM the past. Do not know if he was prepared for this! On offense his goal will be to take advantage of one the only few QB's that have atleast 63,63 PS and PC in the league. He will have WR's to throw to that have 50 RECS.The downfall of this team will be the inability to run the ball with Marion "38 MS" Butts and 3 OL that have 44 HP ratings. This owner's strength in tecmo was the run game, do not know how this will unfold, but will be interesting to see none the less. On defense they do not have as much as some teams do but they are not completely terrible, OK..............I LIED!  They are AWFUL! BUCCANEERS(4-9) 

FALCONS- TDO is in for another long season with this team by the looks of things. He did make a trade to get QB Jim McMahon, but will 38 PS and 56 PC cut it when you have a guy named Sam "FB" Gash as your starting RB? Only chance I see is they have to throw it up and pray for rain with WR's  Slaughter,Martin and Ingram(63,56,50 RECS).  Falcons also have one of the worse LB crews in the league. Their secondary is made up of 2 69 MS guys(Henderson,Lynch) and one 69 INT DB Chris Dishman, this is the only strength this team has and will not be close to enough to make a run. FALCONS(2-11) 

MEMORABLE DIVISION 

OILERS- CANESRFOREAL is looking for another great season in CTL and looks like it will be with the team he takes with him to the field! Let's start off with saying Troy Aikman(56PS,69PC) will be considered a MVP candidate when the season is done. Not only does he have a passing attack but he also has ALL CTL RB Rodney Hampton(50RS,50MS) to share the offensive load with. WR crew is not that good but still has 4 WR's with 50 RECS. OL is just ok with 3 50 HP OL and 1 horrid 44 HP OL. Now let's talk about this insane secondary the Oilers have, simply ridiculous!!!!!!!  Eric Allen will be the secondary leader with 63 MS and 69 INTS.They also have 2 other 44 MS DB's that have an incredible 75 INT rating and last but not least their worst DB is still 56 MS and 50 INTs!  PLEASE DO NOT THROW ON THIS SECONDARY, do not say I didn't warn you. Larry is among the top players in Tecmo when he brings his "A" game. This years favorite to win it all IMO.OILERS(12-1) 

REDSKINS- MRTECMOSUPERBOWL first year in CTL should be interesting with this high powered passing attack. He has Ricky"running" Watters but he is only 44 MS this season compared to the 50 MS last year. QB will be the problem all season for this team with Bubby Brister and his 38 PS and 50 PC ratings. That might be enough when you factor in Jerry Rice(63MS,69RECS) , Andre Rison(56MS,63RECS) and TE Shannon Sharpe who has 50 MS and also 69 RECS!  With a trio like that who needs a damn running game! LB crew is solid with  56,50,50 MS LB's. Secondary is also pretty good with 2- 63 MS and  1 -56 and 1- 50 MS DB. Overall top 5 TEAM roster wise in CTL  and deserves alot of credit on the GM'ing role. He did well in the offseason in the draft,FA and in trades.REDSKINS(9-4) 

STEELERS- BIGFLU112 the Cinderella story of CTL last season, he finished last season strong by winning his last 2 games and sealing the last playoff spot at 7-6.  He then had to face the juggernaut Oilers who were 12-1 going into the playoffs. Steelers pulled off a huge upset by beating them 24-21 to shock the TecmoWorld! He then lost to the Saints but what a hell of a run. This season in Free agency he picked up 2.5 MIL Rod Bernstine who is 44 MS but he was the only thing to choose FROM in the RB bidding wars. At QB helm is Jim Harbaugh who has 19 MS and a 56 PC rating. This along with WR's Chris Carter(56MS,63RECS) and Ernest Givins(50MS,56RECS) should do fairly well on offense again this season. On the defensive side he signed Free agent DL Neil Smith(50MS,75HP) a complete stud! LB crew are below average and the secondary has much speed but no INTS. Keith Traylor will have to be the key with his 69 MS speed. NO GLASS SLIPPER THIS SEASON!STEELERS(6-7) 

RAIDERS- CARMELHOOPS27 made the biggest move in the offseason by making a blockbuster deal to send Barry Sanders to the Raiders. Although Barry is on one of his down years , he is still 44 RS and 50 MS. He will be the main focus for teams on defense. Although they drafted Drew Bledsoe with the #2 overall pick he will sit the bench until next season WHERE he starts to get good ratings. Bobby Hebert will be the temp replacement  and has a decent 50PS and 56 PC rating. WR's are good with Michael Haynes(50MS,63RECS) and Anthony Carter(50MS,56RECS). OL is not that good and will have two 44 HP lineman......OUCH! On the defensive side of the ball Raiders will feature two 50 MS LB's (Moss and Plummer). In the secondary this team might have the worst INT ratings in the whole league but has some good overall speed.This team will have a long season in this very strong division.RAIDERS(5-8)

 SEAHAWKS- JLSTOUT123 was salary strapped this season and could do little to make his team better. His strength on offense is his WR's he has 5 WR's with 50 RECS or better. Wade Wilson will look a whole lot better at 44 PS and 50 PC with those good WR's, The running game is poor with 38 MS Herschel Walker as starting RB. On defense they have two LB's with 50 MS(Holland,Johnson) to handle the middle. Secondary is the real strength of Seattle's team(15 MIL), they drafted stud DB Tom Carter(50MS,69INT) who will be good for numerous years. They also have Audrey McMillan and Mark Carrier who both have 69 MS and 56 INTS. This team will stay close in games but will fall short in the long haul.SEAHAWKS(3-10)
